Dr Sarah Trott is a Senior Lecturer in American Studies and History at York St John University, where she also coordinates the MA in American Studies. Her research focuses on the intersection of war trauma, crime fiction, and cultural memory in 20th-century America. She holds a PhD from UCLA, examining Raymond Chandler’s work through a post-traumatic lens, and is a US-UK Fulbright Awardee (2010).
Her key publications include the monograph *War Noir: Raymond Chandler and the Detective as Veteran* (2016), which introduced the concept of 'War Noir.' She has contributed to journals like *European Journal of American Culture* and *Comparative American Studies*, as well as popular platforms like *The Strand Magazine*.
