Dr. James Cooper is Associate Professor of History and American Studies at York St John University, Fulbright Scholar and Fellow of Royal Historical Society.

• US presidential diplomacy
• Northern Ireland conflict
• Cold War summitry

Publications analyze diplomatic strategies, Anglo-American relations, and cultural politics of 1980s. Recent work examines summit diplomacy techniques and international education collaborations.

Curated Reagan-Thatcher exhibit at National Churchill Museum and provides media commentary for BBC, Global Radio, and international newspapers. Founded the 1980s International Research Group.
