Dr. Sarah Sparrow is an Associate Professor and Deputy Course Director for the MSc in Energy Systems at the University of Oxford's Oxford e-Research Centre. She also serves as the CPDN Programme Coordinator, focusing on climate model integration and impact analysis. Her work spans data-driven climate research, extreme weather attribution, and climate policy scenarios.
Research interests include climate modeling, atmospheric dynamics, and the impacts of climate change on hydrological systems and urban environments. She has contributed to studies on flood attribution in the Amazon basin, atmospheric river dynamics in the US, and CO2/non-CO2 emission pathway analysis under 1.5°C/2°C scenarios.
Recent publications highlight advancements in urban heat island assessments, wildfire-resilient energy systems, and probabilistic forecasting for public health applications. She has coordinated international attribution workshops and led software development initiatives in both academia and industry.
Her technical roles include application development, data management, and supporting large climate ensembles. Professional activities include collaboration with the climateprediction.net community and contributions to climate resilience frameworks.
