Sarah Songhorian

Sarah Songhorian is a Researcher (RTD-A) in Moral Philosophy at the Faculty of Philosophy, University Vita-Salute San Raffaele. She is Vice-President of the Master’s Program in Philosophy, Politics, and Public Affairs (PPPA) jointly run with the University of Milan. Her research integrates ethics with cognitive sciences, focusing on empathy, moral cognition, and neuroethics. She serves as Treasurer and Board Member of the Italian Society of Neuroethics and Philosophy of Neuroscience.

Research Interests: She explores the intersection of moral philosophy and cognitive science, particularly the role of empathy in ethics, moral decision-making, and neuroethical challenges in emerging technologies. Her work addresses topics like moral responsibility in deterministic frameworks, cross-cultural moral intuitions, and the ethics of artificial intelligence.

Teaching: Courses include History of Moral Philosophy, Neuroethics, and Ethics of Human Enhancement. She co-teaches interdisciplinary courses on scientific discovery and bioethics.
