Sarah Simpson is a Lecturer in International Initial Teacher Training at the University of Sunderland. She transitioned from a career in chemical sales to education, driven by her passion for mentoring. With 12 years of primary teaching experience, she held senior management roles focusing on curriculum development and teacher training. As former KS2 English Lead, she championed reading initiatives. She holds an MA in Education (focused on pandemic remote learning impacts) and now supports trainees in the International Initial Teacher Training programme.
- Education: PGCE Primary French (2009), MA Education (distance learning)
Research Interests: Prioritizes digital literacy, inclusive education, and collaborative learning strategies. Her work addresses challenges faced by disadvantaged students and the role of technology in equitable education.
Teaching Roles: Assistant module leader for EDP381, Personal Academic Tutor, and Assessor for the Assessment Only Route. Supervises trainees in practical teaching modules.
Labs/Teams: Engaged with the International DL team and contributes to teacher training initiatives.
