Sarah Rumer is a Professor at the Institute of Classical and Church Music, part of the Lucerne School of Music (Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts). She is a prominent flutist and educator, active in both performance and academia. Her career includes solo engagements with orchestras such as the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande in Geneva, guest performances with the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin, Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich, and Hessischen Rundfunks Frankfurt.
Education: Studied singing with Rudolf Hartmann and flute with Günter Rumpel at the Zurich University of the Arts, later under Dieter Flury in Vienna. Further training included masterclasses with Peter-Lukas Graf, Aurèle Nicolet, and Michael Kofler.
Research interests focus on classical flute performance, chamber music collaboration, and pedagogical practices in music education. Her international awards reflect expertise in Mozart interpretation and competitive excellence.
