Dr. Sarah Morton is a Senior Research Fellow and Chancellor's Fellow at the University of Edinburgh's Moray House School of Education and Sport, within the Institute for Sport, Physical Education & Health Sciences (ISPEHS). Her research focuses on sedentary behavior, stroke rehabilitation, shared decision-making, and digital health interventions. She leads and collaborates on projects addressing workplace health, remote work ergonomics, and public health strategies.
Her work spans systematic reviews, behavioral intervention development, and digital health technologies. Key projects include optimizing physical activity for COPD patients and designing interventions to reduce sedentary behavior in home office settings. She co-leads initiatives like the 'Working from Home Sustainably' project and contributes to national health policy through interdisciplinary collaborations.
Morton actively participates in academic activities, including invited lectures on stroke survivor mobility and workshops on dissertation support. She has supervised multiple research projects and contributes to national research networks. Her grants include funding from the Economic and Social Research Council and the National Institute for Health Research.
