Professor Sarah Lonbay is a Professor in the School of Social Sciences and Law at the University of Sunderland, and a Research Fellow in the NIHR Applied Research Collaboration for North East and North Cumbria. Her roles include serving as the Research and Knowledge Exchange Champion for Social Sciences, the University’s REF lead for Unit 20 (Social Work and Social Policy) and UoA 21 (Sociology), and former co-head of the Centre for Applied Social Sciences (CASS). She specializes in adult safeguarding, trauma-informed practices, ageing, and participatory research methods.
