Sarah Lacey is a Senior Lecturer in Occupational Therapy at the Department of Allied Health Professions, University of Sheffield Hallam. She serves as the practice-based learning lead and specializes in teaching areas such as paediatrics, neurological rehabilitation, and professional practice skills. Her professional background includes clinical work with children in special educational needs and adults with neurological conditions, as well as leadership roles in healthcare service management.
Education includes a BSc/BA, MSc in Occupational Therapy (2016), and a PGCert in Teaching in Higher Education. She is pursuing Senior Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
Research focuses on innovative educational methods like simulated/hybrid placements for occupational therapy students. Recent work includes studies on mobile apps for MS fatigue management and Lycra orthosis use.
Awarded the University’s Inspirational Teacher and Outstanding Academic Advisor (2023), and Vice-Chancellor’s award (2024). She teaches on MSc and BSc Occupational Therapy programs and collaborates on initiatives to enhance clinical placement quality in primary care settings.
