Dr. Krier's research centers on HIV prevention among marginalized populations, particularly Black men who have sex with men and transgender women. She examines structural interventions, healthcare stigma, and pandemic impacts through anthropological and community-engaged approaches. Her work consistently addresses social determinants of health and health disparities in infectious disease contexts.
Her 2018-2021 publications reveal evolving research trajectories: early work focused on community-based HIV prevention models ('Project Silk'), while pandemic-era studies analyzed masking guidance readability and HIV stigma during COVID-19. Recent publications increasingly address intersectional barriers including intimate partner violence's impact on PrEP access, demonstrating her commitment to responsive, equity-focused public health research.
She teaches 'Human Diversity in Public Health Research, Practice and Policy' (IDM 2032) and maintains active research on structural interventions for vulnerable populations.
