Sarah Kovoor

Sarah Kovoor is a Professor of Management at the CU Denver Business School. She holds leadership roles including past President of the Western Academy of Management (2018-19) and membership on the international advisory board of the Eastern Academy of Management. She has organized and chaired tracks at global conferences in India, Spain, Peru, Australia, and Croatia. Her research focuses on crisis management, organizational resilience, and change leadership.

Dr. Kovoor earned her PhD from the University of Southern California. Her work bridges academia and practice, with a single-authored book Crisis Management: Resilience and Change (2020) and over 20 peer-reviewed articles. She has advised organizations on crisis preparedness and was featured in Harvard Business Review and Financial Times’ Ignites.

Her publications analyze crises through lenses of leadership accountability, employee trust, and organizational identity. Notable contributions include frameworks for crisis identification and adaptive strategies during pandemics. Awards include the Emerald Literati Award for her 2011 paper on post-acquisition change.

As a former MBA program director and Management discipline lead, she emphasizes transformative pedagogy and fostering resilience in education. Her work integrates empirical research with actionable insights for leaders navigating crises.
