Dr. Sarah Kate Smith is a Research Fellow at Sheffield Hallam University's School of Health and Social Care. With a PhD from the University of Sheffield (2015), her research focuses on enabling meaningful social participation for older adults, particularly those living with dementia. She employs innovative visual methodologies to capture health outcomes and promotes technology engagement to reduce digital inequalities.
Research Interests: Applied health research on aging populations, technology-enabled care solutions, dementia inclusion strategies, and visual participatory methods that make research outcomes accessible beyond academic circles.
Projects: Contributed to major EU Horizon 2020 (IN-LIFE) and ESRC (Sustainable Care) initiatives before joining the NIHR-funded project (2021-2024) using digital health to transform long-term condition management in the NHS. Passionate about co-designing interventions with stakeholders.
