Professor Sarah Jack is a Distinguished Professor in Entrepreneurship at Lancaster University Management School (LUMS). She previously held the Jacob and Marcus Wallenberg Professorship at Stockholm School of Economics (SSE) and led initiatives such as the Jacob and Marcus Wallenberg Centre for Innovative and Sustainable Business Development. Her research focuses on the social aspects of entrepreneurship, including sustainability, social innovation, and enterprise education. She has extensive international collaborations and serves as Editor for Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice and Associate Editor for Entrepreneurship and Regional Development.
Education: BA (Hons), PGCE(S), PhD. She has supervised numerous PhD students and led impactful projects like RECIRCULATE (eco-innovation in Africa) and TrEE (transforming enterprise education). Her grants total over £6.8 million, addressing topics from gender equality to SME resilience during the pandemic. She is affiliated with research groups including the Centre for Family Business and the Pentland Centre for Sustainability.
Research highlights include exploring entrepreneurial resilience in crises, social innovation in marginalized regions, and the role of family firms in sustainable development. Her work emphasizes qualitative methodologies and network theory. Recent articles address gender inequality in academia and ESG practices in family businesses.
