Dr. Allan Discua Cruz is a Senior Lecturer in Entrepreneurship at Lancaster University Management School (LUMS), serving as Director of the Centre for Family Business and a member of the Pentland Centre for Sustainability in Business. He holds a PhD from Lancaster University and has diverse qualifications including degrees from institutions in Honduras, Canada, Sweden, Spain, and the USA. His research focuses on family business dynamics, entrepreneurial teams, and sustainability practices, with notable contributions to journals like Entrepreneurship & Regional Development and European Journal of Family Business.
Academically, he teaches entrepreneurship and family business modules at undergraduate and graduate levels. His editorial roles include associate editorships for multiple journals and co-editorship of the Journal of Evolutionary Studies in Business. He has supervised PhD students such as Richard Baguley, Brian Gregory, and John Learmonth, focusing on topics like entrepreneurial families and developing economies.
Dr. Cruz has received awards including the Emerald Literati Award and Pilkington Teaching Award. His research groups include the Centre for Family Business and Latin America Research Cluster.
