Andreas Strobl is an Associate Professor in International Strategy at Lancaster University Management School (LUMS). He holds a doctorate from Innsbruck University (2012) and served as a post-doctoral researcher there before joining LUMS in 2019. He is also a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA). His research focuses on the intersection of Strategy, Entrepreneurship, and Leadership, with particular emphasis on entrepreneurial strategizing practices, M&A-driven innovation, and SME/family business contexts.
Dr. Strobl’s work has been published in journals like Journal of World Business and Long Range Planning, and has received awards including the 2017 Outstanding Paper Award and the 2015 Most Inspirational Paper Award. He serves as Associate Editor for European Management Journal and on the editorial board of Long Range Planning. He is affiliated with LUMS’ Centre for Family Business and Centre for Scholarship and Innovation in Management Education.
His current research interests include AI-driven strategic foresight for SMEs, family businesses in M&A contexts, and entrepreneurial decision-making. He advises PhD students on topics such as generative AI in SME growth and sustainable community development. Notable projects include Strategic Foresight in SMEs: How Generative AI can Secure SME Growth and Survival (2025–2026).
Professional activities span editorial roles, peer reviewing for journals like Journal of Business Research, and invited talks on leadership and strategy. His work bridges academic rigor with practical insights for organizations navigating complex business environments.
