Dr. Sarah Ihmoud is an Assistant Professor at the College of the Holy Cross, holding affiliations in Sociology & Anthropology, Latin American & Caribbean Studies, Middle Eastern Studies, Gender & Women’s Studies, and Peace & Conflict Studies. Her research interrogates intersections of transnational feminisms, Indigenous decolonial frameworks, and critical race studies. She earned her Ph.D. (2017) and M.A. (2011) from the University of Texas at Austin, and a B.A. (2006) from Sarah Lawrence College.
Her scholarship focuses on Palestinian women’s resistance to colonial and patriarchal violence, transnational feminist epistemologies, and decolonial methodologies. Current projects include a book manuscript on Palestinian feminist critiques of settler colonialism and a co-edited volume on fugitive anthropological practices.
Her research has been supported by the National Science Foundation, Wenner-Gren Foundation, and National Endowment for the Humanities. Grants include studies on access to justice in Palestine (UN Women), and decolonial fieldwork methods (Wenner-Gren).
Teaching includes courses on anthropological theory, borderlands, and Arab women’s worlds. Her work bridges activism and academia, prioritizing marginalized voices in global struggles for liberation.
