معرفی
Dr. Sarah Hayes is a Postdoctoral Researcher in Epidemiology within the Health Protection Research Unit at the University of Oxford's Department of Statistics. Funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research, she applies statistical and epidemiological methods to study zoonotic disease transmission under supervision of Professor Christl Donnelly.
Education:
- PhD Infectious Disease Epidemiology, Imperial College London
- MSc Epidemiology, Imperial College London
- BVetMed Veterinary Medicine, Royal Veterinary College
Her research focuses on One Health approaches to infectious diseases, combining veterinary and epidemiological expertise to model transmission dynamics. Current projects include Bayesian regression modeling of avian influenza risks in European wild birds and statistical reconstruction of historical hepatitis C outbreaks for the UK Infected Blood Inquiry.
Recent publications demonstrate strong methodological focus on Bayesian modeling techniques applied to historical infection reconstruction (hepatitis C) and spatial risk mapping (avian influenza). Research consistently integrates ecological, environmental, and host factors in transmission models.
Scientific Awards: No awards listed
She contributes to collaborative projects including the NIHR Health Protection Research Unit in Emerging and Zoonotic Infections and MRC Centre for Global Infectious Disease Analysis. Current grants support work on avian influenza spillover risks and bloodborne pathogen transmission modeling.
