Sarah Harris is a scholar of contemporary Spanish fiction and a faculty member at Bennington College since 2009, affiliated with the Isabelle Kaplan Center for Languages and Cultures. She has served as Associate Dean for Advising (2020–2022) and Dean of Faculty (2021–2024), contributing to academic leadership and curriculum development.

Her research focuses on trauma and memory in Hispanophone literature, the intersection of comics/sequential art and cultural studies, Peninsular cinema, and critical explorations of migration, monstrosity, and gender. She has taught courses like Spanish Through Film, The Politics of Pedro Almodóvar, and Queering Creation in the Arts of Latin America, reflecting her interdisciplinary interests.
Harris received the José Monleón Postdoctoral Fellowship, supporting her research and teaching. Her work engages deeply with authors such as Juan Marsé, Miguel Gallardo, and Carmen Martín Gaite, as well as visual artists like Francisco de Goya.
