Sarah Gomm is a Lecturer at the Department of Humanities, Social and Political Sciences at ETH Zürich. She holds a doctoral degree from ETH Zurich and dual Master’s degrees from Konstanz University (Politics and Public Administration) and Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Political Science Research). She also earned two Bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and Cultural Anthropology from Albert-Ludwigs-University Freiburg. Dr. Gomm is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the International Political Economy/International Environmental Politics group at the Center for Comparative and International Studies (CIS). Her research focuses on environmental politics, particularly public opinion dynamics related to mental health, populist attitudes, values, and trust.
She coordinates the Swiss Environmental Panel and co-organizes the Zurich Political Economy Seminar Series. Her recent publications explore topics such as circular economy consumer behavior, the impact of economic shocks on environmental attitudes, procedural inclusiveness in policymaking, and links between environmental conditions and mental health. These studies appear in journals like Climatic Change, Environmental Research, and the Journal of European Public Policy.
Her work bridges environmental policy, political psychology, and public health, emphasizing how procedural fairness and citizen perceptions shape policy acceptance. She has collaborated with institutions like the Research Collection at ETH Zurich and engages in interdisciplinary research to address urgent societal challenges.
