Sarah Foskett is a Lecturer in the History of Art at the University of Glasgow, specializing in textile conservation and technical art history. She is affiliated with the Centre for Textile Conservation and Technical Art History (located at the Robertson Building, Level 3) and the Research Network for Textile Conservation. Her professional roles include committee membership at the June Baker Trust and accreditation with the Institute of Conservation.
Before academia, she worked as a textile conservator at Glasgow Museums (Burrell Collection Tapestry Project) and National Museums Scotland (1995–2008). She trained at the Textile Conservation Centre at Hampton Court Palace. Her research focuses on conservation methodologies, material science applications in heritage preservation, and pedagogical approaches in reflective practice.
Her publications span 1994–2017, addressing topics like adhesive evaluation, soil removal techniques, and educational frameworks in conservation training. She teaches on the MPhil Textile Conservation program and actively contributes to interdisciplinary conservation networks.
