Sarah Flynn is an Associate Professor in the Learning & Teaching Centre for Learning, Access and Student Success at the University of Hertfordshire. She previously served as Chair of ASET, the Work Based and Placement Learning Association from 2013 to 2019.
Research Interests: Focuses on work-integrated learning, workplace mentoring, apprenticeships, and inclusive curriculum design. Her work emphasizes practical implications for employers and strategies to address equity in higher education.
Projects:
- Addressing women's underrepresentation in higher education leadership (2024-2026, British Council-funded)
- Developing an Inclusive Culture in Higher Education (2011-2012)
Grants & Collaborations: Collaborates with institutions on curriculum development and BME attainment gap initiatives. Active in Vietnam-focused higher education leadership projects.
Labs/Teams: Engaged with WACE Inc and the Higher Education, Skills and Work-based Learning journal community.
