Sarah Emmerson is a Senior Lecturer and PGCE Secondary Course Leader at the University of Worcester. She holds a BA in Religious Education (with QTS) from the University of Sunderland and an MA in Education from the University of Nottingham, focusing on mentoring's role in teacher leadership development. Currently pursuing doctoral research on Initial Teacher Education (ITE)'s contribution to school improvement.
With over 20 years in education, Sarah has served as a middle/senior leader in secondary schools, including roles as Head of Humanities and Assistant Head. She established and led a School Direct Alliance in the East Midlands and developed programs for new and recently qualified teachers within a Multi-Academy Trust. Her expertise spans curriculum design, teacher mentoring, and educational leadership.
Professional qualifications include Safer Recruitment, Prevent Duty training, and Safeguarding Essentials. Her work integrates practical school experience with academic research to enhance teacher development and institutional improvement.
