Sarah Elliott Novacich is an Associate Professor of English at Rutgers University and serves as the Associate Director of Graduate Studies and Director of the Program in Global Medieval Studies. Her research and teaching focus on medieval literature, with interdisciplinary connections to drama, gender studies, and archival theory.

Professor Novacich’s work explores the cultural uses of rhyme in Middle English poetry and the archival processes in late medieval England, as evidenced by her book Shaping the Archive in Late Medieval England: History, Poetry, and Performance (Cambridge UP). She teaches undergraduate courses on Medieval Drama, Chaucer, and Medieval Travel Narrative, and graduate courses on Medieval Drama and Performance and Medievalisms.
Her affiliations include leadership in the Program in Global Medieval Studies at Rutgers, where she bridges medieval scholarship with global perspectives.
