Sarah Elizabeth Wallace is a Professor and Director of the Speech-Language Pathology Program at the University of Pittsburgh's School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences (SHRS), Department of Communication Science and Disorders. Her expertise spans aphasia therapy, critical care communication, and interprofessional collaboration. She holds the ASHA Fellow distinction, a prestigious honor in speech-language pathology.
Her research focuses on improving outcomes for individuals with aphasia through innovative technologies (e.g., text-to-speech customization), enhancing adherence to home rehabilitation programs, and optimizing tracheostomy management in critical care settings. She has conducted international surveys on clinical practices and developed evidence-based tools like the Aphasia Therapy Finder and Communication with an Artificial Airway Tool (CAT).
