Sarah Diem

Dr. Sarah Diem is a Professor of Educational Leadership & Policy Analysis at the University of Missouri's Truman School of Government and Public Affairs. Her research investigates how educational policies affecting equity and diversity are implemented within social and cultural contexts, particularly examining racial dynamics in public schools.

Diem's scholarship focuses on the politics of diversity during periods of legal uncertainty, school district policies, and leadership preparation for addressing race-related issues. Awarded the 2014 Emerging Scholar Award from AERA Division A, her work examines school segregation patterns, community responses to demographic changes, and educational outcomes for marginalized students.

Current projects explore anti-racist policy development and the impacts of school district decentralization on educational equity. Diem's research informs leadership programs preparing administrators to serve diverse student populations.
