Sarah Dewar

Sarah Dewar is a Lecturer in the Department of Law at the University of Winchester, affiliated with the Faculty of Law, Crime and Justice. She holds a law degree from the London School of Economics (LSE) and was called to the Bar in 1986. With over a decade of experience as a prosecutor with the Crown Prosecution Service in South London, she specialized in child protection cases. During her career break, she earned a Master's in Child Studies from King's College London, focusing her dissertation on children's evidence. Additionally, she serves as a magistrate since 2013, sitting on both family and criminal benches. Beyond academia, Dewar works as a lay advisor for Health Education Wessex, governs a deaf school, and chairs a national public health charity.

Her professional journey combines legal practice, education, and public service, reflecting expertise in criminal law, child welfare, and justice systems. She actively contributes to interdisciplinary initiatives addressing legal and healthcare challenges.
