Hilary Marsh

Hilary Marsh is a part-time Associate Lecturer in Law at Coventry Law School, Faculty of Business and Law, Coventry University. She joined the university staff in 2019 after commencing ad-hoc teaching in 2017. With a 37-year background in the Criminal Justice System, she brings extensive practical experience to her academic role. Her career included positions at Her Majesty’s Courts and Tribunal Service, the Crown Prosecution Service, and Her Majesty’s Crown Prosecution Service Inspectorate.

Her teaching focuses on criminal law, evidence law, and practical legal skills. Her expertise spans prosecution procedures, statutory charging implementation, officer training in evidence handling, disclosure protocols, and serious sexual offences. She maintains professional memberships with The Law Society and the Association of Law Teachers.

Key achievements include receiving a Chief Constable's Commendation for training Leicestershire Constabulary, project-managing statutory charging rollouts, and contributing to the Peart Report on Criminal Justice System reforms. She previously represented the Crown Prosecution Service on the Law Society Council and Criminal Law Committee.
