معرفی
Sarah De Val is a Research Fellow at the University of Oxford, Department of Physiology, Anatomy & Genetics (DPAG), and holds an adjunct role at the Ludwig Cancer Institute. Her research focuses on vessel growth modulation and transcriptional pathways regulating vascular development, particularly arterial/venous identity and angiogenesis. Using zebrafish and mouse models, she investigates enhancer-driven mechanisms in endothelial cell specification and vascular homeostasis.
Key research areas include SOXF/NOTCH and VEGFA-MEF2 pathways, with recent work exploring vein and lymphatic identity. Her methodologies combine genomic analysis with in vivo functional studies to bridge developmental biology and translational cardiology.
- Awards: British Heart Foundation Senior Fellowship.
- Funding: BHF, MRC, BBSRC, Oak Foundation, and Ludwig Institute grants.
Labs/groups: De Val Group, Burdon Sanderson Cardiac Sciences Centre. Collaborative focus spans basic vascular biology to disease models of ischemic heart conditions.
