Sarah Daniell is a Senior Fellow at the Melbourne Law School, University of Melbourne, and holds leadership roles as Managing Director of Lextechia and director of the Australasian Cyber Law Institute.
Her expertise spans technology and commercial law, with extensive experience advising public and private sector organizations on privacy compliance, cyber security, operational risk management, and contract design. She contributes to the legal profession through the Privacy Law Bulletin Editorial Committee and publications in the Law Institute Journal.

Daniell has held significant public sector roles including leading the Commercial Law team at the Department of Health and Human Services, the Intellectual Property & Information Technology team at the Victorian Government Solicitor’s Office, and commercial purchasing for CenITex. She negotiated over $2 billion in government procurement and advised on critical systems including the Emergency Alert system and Nurse-on-Call.
She integrates technical expertise from her background in computer programming and web design, having founded the tech startup CarePool, into her legal practice and teaching of Artificial Intelligence and the Law and Cyber Security and the Law in the Melbourne Law Masters program.
