Professor Sarah Biddulph is a leading academic in Chinese law and governance, serving as Professor of Law at the University of Melbourne and Director of the Asian Law Centre (ALC) within Melbourne Law School. She also holds the role of Assistant Deputy Vice Chancellor - International (China), overseeing the University’s strategic engagement with China, including policy development and implementation of the China Engagement Plan 2020-2024. Her work spans legal reform, administrative law, criminal procedure, and human rights in China, with a focus on fostering cross-jurisdictional collaboration and supporting marginalized groups such as Afghan Women Judges in Melbourne.
Her research emphasizes contemporary Chinese legal systems, particularly administrative law, labor rights, and comparative legal frameworks. She has led initiatives like the Asian Legal Conversations platform (launched during the pandemic) and the 'Celebrating Asian Legal Careers' seminar series.
