Sarah Beate Eichmeyer is an Assistant Professor in the Economics Department at Bocconi University. Her research focuses on political economy and public economics, with a particular emphasis on media impact, public opinion formation, poverty, health, and wellbeing. She holds a PhD from Stanford University and previously served as an Assistant Professor at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich.
**Education**: PhD in Economics from Stanford University.
**Research Interests**: Her work explores how media shape political opinions, evaluates healthcare policies related to opioid use and public health, and examines the societal implications of social media. She also investigates poverty dynamics and health disparities, particularly in marginalized communities.
**Teaching**: At Bocconi, she teaches undergraduate courses in Microeconomics (Module 1) and Political Economics. Previously at LMU Munich, she instructed graduate courses on big data in economic analysis and undergraduate courses on poverty/social mobility and political economy/media.
**Affiliations**: CEPR (Public & Labour), J-PAL North America, IGIER, LEAP, and CESifo. She collaborates widely on topics like crisis response and health equity.
