Dr. Sarah Barnes is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the Yale School of Medicine and Director of Adult Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Services at Yale-New Haven Psychiatric Hospital. She specializes in clinical psychology with a focus on DBT for children, adolescents, and adults, particularly in intensive outpatient programs. Her leadership includes overseeing DBT services and contributing to the Yale Psychology Doctoral Intern Program as a core faculty member.
Education: PhD in Clinical Psychology (2019, University of Memphis), Pre-doctoral Fellowship (Yale School of Medicine, 2019), Postdoctoral Fellowship (Brown University, 2020).
Research: Dr. Barnes investigates measurement-based care (MBC) to enhance treatment outcomes, particularly in DBT and adolescent intensive services. Her work bridges clinical practice and telehealth innovation, as seen in the CHATogether project funded by the YNHHS Innovation Award (2022).
