Professor Sarah Badcock is a leading historian at the University of Nottingham's Department of History within the Faculty of Arts. Her research focuses on late Imperial and revolutionary Russia, emphasizing individual lived experiences over state policies. She has authored two major monographs: Politics and the People in Revolutionary Russia (2007) and A Prison Without Walls? (2016), the latter winning the BASEES Women's Forum Prize.

Her 15 most recent articles (2017-2023) examine themes like Siberian exile networks, peasant revolutions, and cultural dimensions of political activism. Key collaborations include curatorial work with The Workhouse at Southwell, Galleries of Justice museum, and British Library's 1917 Revolution exhibition. She co-edited Revolutionary Russia (2010-2015) and continues shaping debates about Russian imperial decline and revolutionary processes.
