Dr. Sarah B. Mallory is an Assistant Professor with a joint appointment in the School of Education and the Center for Disabilities Studies at the University of Delaware. Her expertise lies in special education, particularly autism and developmental/intellectual disabilities. She focuses on educator preparation for supporting children with intense behavioral and academic needs.
Education:
- Ph.D. in Special Education, Teachers College, Columbia University (2014)
- M.Ed. in Special Education, George Mason University (2006)
- B.A. in Psychology, George Washington University (2002)
Research Interests: Dr. Mallory’s work emphasizes developing interventions for individuals with disabilities to navigate peer pressure and abuse scenarios. She collaborates on training programs for educators and professionals in clinical, healthcare, and school settings. Her scholarship bridges academic instruction and practical applications for vulnerable populations.

Professional Experience: Prior to UD, she served as Director of Special Education Teacher Preparation Programs and Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Maryland (2014–2019). Before academia, she was a special education teacher in public schools and home-based settings, specializing in autism support.
