Sarah Archino serves as Department Chair and Associate Professor of Art History at Furman University. Her research focuses on early 20th-century American modernism, particularly Dada's development in New York through anarcho-individualist and vernacular frameworks. She holds a PhD from the CUNY Graduate Center (2012) with a dissertation analyzing Dada's American iteration.

Research interests emphasize anarchism's role in avant-garde movements, digital art curation, and transdisciplinary pedagogy. Awards include the Terra Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship (2013-2015) and Kress Fellowship (2015). She has held fellowships at the Institut national d'histoire de l'art (Paris) and the Duchamp Research Center (Germany). Teaching experience includes positions at Millsaps College, Franklin & Marshall, and Hunter College.
Academic leadership includes co-founding the AndOr Project, an online platform for digital art research. Current projects expand her doctoral research into a broader examination of American modernism's vernacular roots.
