Sara Williams serves as the Visiting Director of Advocacy Programs at Cumberland School of Law, Samford University. She is a 2006 graduate of Cumberland School of Law, where she excelled in advocacy, winning the ABA’s 2005 National Mediation Competition and holding leadership roles in the Black Law Students Association and Trial Advocacy Board. Since 2010, she has coached Cumberland’s mock trial teams and taught courses in trial advocacy. She currently practices at Alexander Shunnarah Trial Attorneys, specializing in trucking, wrongful death, and catastrophic injury litigation.

Her expertise spans trial advocacy, litigation strategies, and legal education. She has tried numerous motor vehicle and trucking cases in Alabama. From 2017–2021, she managed Alexander Shunnarah’s expansion into multiple states, growing the firm to hundreds of attorneys.
Notable awards include Alabama Super Lawyer (2021–present), Top 40 Under 40 (2017), and the Marie Lambert Award (2022). She holds leadership roles in the American Association for Justice and Homewood City Schools Foundation.
Williams has mentored students and contributed to Cumberland’s advocacy programs. Her professional engagements include board memberships and advisory roles, reflecting her commitment to legal education and community service.
