Sara Myrberg

Sara Myrberg is an Associate Professor and Senior Lecturer at Lund University's Swedish Centre for Languages and Literature (SOL), where she also serves as Manager of Research and Research Education. She holds additional administrative roles as a member of the Board of Section 1 at the Centre for Languages and Literature.

Her research specializes in prosody—the rhythm and melody of speech—with current focus on Scandinavian tone accent typology. She leads the project South Swedish and Danish intonation systems - in the transition between North Germanic and West Germanic, building on her extensive prior work on Stockholm Swedish intonation patterns. Her research interests span:

• Scandinavian tone accent systems and typology
• Prosodic analysis of Swedish dialects
• Phonetic realization of intonation contours
• Language variation in North Germanic languages

Myrberg teaches multiple linguistics courses including Swedish Linguistics, Swedish Grammar, and Linguistic Variation in Scandinavian Languages. She maintains active academic service through peer review for journals like Glossa and NyS, and regularly presents at international linguistics conferences.
