Sara Laimon is Associate Professor at McGill University's Schulich School of Music, teaching piano and collaborative piano. A founding member of Sequitur ensemble, she specializes in contemporary repertoire and has premiered works by Ligeti, Berio, and Bresnick.
Her pedagogical leadership includes directing the McGill Conservatory of Music and developing curricula emphasizing collaborative skills and contemporary performance practice. Students have won competitions including Prix d'Europe.
Research explores extended techniques in post-1950 piano literature and chamber music collaboration models. She has recorded for Albany, CRI, and MODE records, featuring works from Brahms to Ligeti.
