Sara Jansen Perry is a Professor of Management in the Hankamer School of Business at Baylor University, where she oversees the Human Resource Management major and teaches courses in negotiation, conflict resolution, talent acquisition, and employee relations.
Her research focuses on employee stress and well-being, with particular emphasis on remote and hybrid work arrangements and leadership dynamics. Drawing from Industrial-Organizational Psychology, her work examines how individuals utilize internal and external resources to optimize work outcomes across diverse sectors including for-profit, non-profit, military, and government organizations.
Professor Perry's publication record shows a clear trend toward exploring the evolving nature of work, particularly the psychological and relational impacts of remote and hybrid work models. Her recent research investigates boundary management, work-family conflict spillover, resource allocation in virtual settings, and leadership dynamics in distributed work environments.
As an active member of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Academy of Management, and Society for Human Resource Management, she contributes to professional discourse through committee service and conference reviewing. Her research has been recognized through university and college-level faculty awards, and she has served as a media expert for major outlets including the New York Times and Washington Post.
Professor Perry earned her PhD and MA in Industrial Organizational Psychology from the University of Houston and her BS in Computer Science from the University of Missouri, following several years working as a sales engineer in the high-tech industry.
