Professor Sara Hadleigh-Dunn is a Professor of Risk and Organisational Resilience at the University of Portsmouth's School of Strategy, Marketing, and Innovation. She co-directs the Centre of Excellence in Defence, Risk and Resilience (CEDRR) and oversees the MSc Risk, Crisis and Resilience Management and MSc Risk and Safety Leadership programs. Her roles include PhD supervisor, Curriculum Director, and member of the BSI CAR/1 Continuity and Resilience Committee. She holds certifications as a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA), Fellow of the Security Institute (FSyI), and Security Risk Management Certified Professional (SRMCP).
Her research focuses on organisational resilience, crisis learning, and risk management strategies. Key areas include simulations for crisis training, terrorism preparedness, and risk perception. She has collaborated with public sector organisations like the London Fire Brigade and Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service. Professor Hadleigh-Dunn has contributed to major initiatives like the Exercise Unified Response (EUR), Europe's largest crisis simulation, and developed frameworks for disaster prevention in high-reliability organisations. Her work emphasizes actionable learning from rare events and improving risk communication strategies. Awards include recognition for her contributions to security education and risk management practices.
