Sara Griffin

Sara Griffin serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Food Science and Nutrition at California State University, Fresno's Jordan College of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, where she joined the faculty in Fall 2016 and currently coordinates the Culinology^® program.

Her academic credentials include a B.A. and Ph.D. in Food Science from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, where she was honored as a Distinguished Doctoral Fellow.

As an Analytical Lipid Chemist and recognized Egg Expert, Dr. Griffin's research spans culinary science innovation, lipid chemistry applications, and community-focused food security initiatives. She champions undergraduate education through rigorous experimental design in product development, emphasizing integrity in scientific methodology while promoting healthy dietary choices including dark leafy greens and hydration.

Dr. Griffin actively mentors students in product development projects and maintains longstanding collaborations with regional farmers and entrepreneurs as a liaison and food processor.
