Sara Gonzalez

Sara Gonzalez is an Associate Professor in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Washington, Seattle, and an Adjunct Assistant Professor in American Indian Studies. Her current roles include developing a community-based archaeology program and exploring digital media's role in tribal historical preservation. Previously, she held fellowships at Carleton College (Department of Sociology & Anthropology) and Vassar College (Department of Anthropology). She earned her doctorate from UC Berkeley's Department of Anthropology in 2011.

Her research focuses on the archaeology of colonialism, Indigenous and feminist archaeology, and historical archaeology.
