Clarita Lefthand-Begay is an Assistant Professor at the University of Washington’s Information School (iSchool) and Director of the Tribal Water Security Project. She holds an adjunct role as Assistant Professor in American Indian Studies. Her research focuses on indigenous knowledge protection, tribal water security, climate health, and resiliency, with a strong emphasis on environmental health and justice. She earned her PhD in Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences from the University of Washington’s School of Public Health. As a Navajo Nation citizen, her work aligns with tribal self-determination and cultural revitalization. Her affiliations include the Tribal Water Security Project and collaboration with centers like wǝɫǝbʔaltxʷ Intellectual House and the Indigenous Wellness Research Institute.
