Sara Aponte-Olivieri is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Modern Languages at Farmingdale State College. She holds a Ph.D. in French Literature from Université Grenoble Alpes (2009) and a B.A. in Modern Languages (French and Italian) from the University of Puerto Rico (1999), graduating Magna cum Laude.

Her research focuses on Early Modern French literature, particularly the works of Michel de Montaigne, exploring themes of comparison, rivalry, and cultural identity. Recent publications and presentations highlight her expertise in Renaissance textual analysis, comparative approaches, and historical contexts. While her teaching includes elementary French and Spanish courses, her scholarly work emphasizes literary theory and cultural studies.
