Sara Ortega-Higgs

Sara Ortega-Higgs is an Assistant Professor at Samford University within the Howard College of Arts and Sciences, teaching Spanish and French in the Department of World Languages and Cultures. She holds dual doctoral degrees in Hispanic Studies (University of Puerto Rico) and Romance Languages Studies (Université Stendhal-Grenoble 3).

• Specializes in medieval Castilian poetry of the 15th century

Her research has been published in peer-reviewed journals in Spain and Latin America. She actively contributes to social justice initiatives as a translator for nonprofits and families engaged in international adoption.
