Sara A. Hurvitz

Dr. Sara A. Hurvitz is a Senior Vice President and Director of the Clinical Research Division at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center (Fred Hutch), and Professor and Head of the Division of Hematology and Oncology at the University of Washington School of Medicine. She leads clinical research programs in oncology, stem cell transplantation, and cell therapy. Her expertise spans breast cancer management, including novel targeted therapies and immune-based treatments.

Dr. Hurvitz holds the Smith Family Endowed Chair in Women’s Health (2025) and is affiliated with the Translational Science and Therapeutics Division at Fred Hutch.

Her clinical work emphasizes early- and late-stage breast cancer management, including neoadjuvant treatments and immune-based therapies. She actively contributes to national oncology organizations and has been recognized for advancing hematology-oncology fellowships.
