Sapna Shah is Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Nephrology and Hypertension at Keck School of Medicine, University of Southern California. She serves as Associate Program Director for both Nephrology and Transplant Nephrology fellowships.
Shah's clinical expertise includes kidney/pancreas transplant management, chronic kidney disease in multi-organ transplant recipients, and pregnancy in transplantation. Her research investigates biomarkers in kidney transplantation, post-transplant infections, and strategies for personalizing immunosuppression regimens.
Her publications address complex aspects of transplant care, including recent studies on AKI management in cirrhotic patients and critical care protocols for transplant recipients. Shah's work advances clinical guidelines through evidence-based analyses of rare complications and treatment innovations.
Shah chairs the Renal System for USC Medical School curriculum and develops educational programs for medical trainees. She presents research nationally and contributes to professional societies including the American Society of Nephrology and American Society of Transplantation.
