Nasrollah Ghahramani

Dr. Nasrollah Ghahramani is an active faculty member at Penn State University, serving as the J. Lloyd Huck Chair in Medicine, Professor and Interim Chair of the Department of Medicine, and Professor in the Department of Public Health Sciences. He is Chief of the Division of Nephrology and Medical Director of the kidney transplant program at Penn State.

Dr. Ghahramani’s research focuses on patient-centered studies in chronic kidney disease, kidney transplantation, and geographic disparities in transplant access. His work includes peer mentoring programs for CKD patients, graft survival monitoring, and immunosuppression method comparisons. He also investigates acute kidney injury epidemiology and post-COVID-19 kidney disease prediction via machine learning.

Recent publications highlight trends in nephrology, cardiology, and health informatics. Key themes include dialysis timing guidelines, renal replacement therapy outcomes, and social barriers in transplant care. His work leverages clinical data, database analysis, and machine learning for predictive modeling.
