Santosha Kumar Pattanayak

Santosha Kumar Pattanayak is a Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur. He earned his PhD from CMI Chennai in 2011 and an M.Sc. from the University of Hyderabad in 2005. His professional experience includes positions as Assistant Professor at NISER (2013) and PostDoc at the Weizmann Institute of Science (2011-2013).

His research focuses on Algebraic Groups, Invariant Theory, Lie Algebra, and Representation Theory, with work spanning geometric methods in algebra and combinatorial applications.

Recent publications (2014-2009) cluster in algebraic geometry and invariant theory, exploring torus actions, Schubert varieties, and modular algebras. Trends show deepening work in geometric group theory and computational invariants.
