Catharina Stroppel

Catharina Stroppel is a Professor at the Department of Mathematics, University of Bonn. She is a leading expert in representation theory, with significant contributions to Lie algebras, superalgebras, diagram algebras, and categorification. She was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Philosophy by Uppsala University in 2025.

• Research Interests: Representation theory of Lie algebras, connections to topology (knot and manifold invariants), categorification, TQFT, combinatorial aspects (Schubert calculus, Kazhdan-Lusztig theory), Hecke algebras, diagram algebras, and higher category theory.

Recent Publications: Her work spans geometric categorification, Soergel bimodules, Khovanov algebras, and quantum coideal structures, emphasizing diagrammatic approaches and applications to topology and Lie theory.
